BRINGING MAGGIE Home by Kim Vogel Sawyer

In the beginning, I didn't pay attention to the page headings which told the character's name that was thinking or speaking. Hazel, her daughter Margaret Diane, and her granddaughter Meghan are the main characters. The loss of Hazel's sister Maggie is the backdrop of the story and the reason for the Hazel's over-protectiveness toward her daughter. As a result Diane determined not to be like her mother and was liberal with bringing up Meghan her only child born out of wedlock. Diane was my least favorite character until the last eight chapters in the book. Coming to Jesus breaks down the generational discord and allows Diane to look at her mother with new eyes. Meghan is the sweetest grandchild anyone could hope for. Her loving care of her grandmother and her fervent search for Maggie drives this book to a wonderful ending. Sean is not too bad either.
