Radical Teachings of Jesus

My teaching this week was 2 Corinthians 2 and I used the Paradoxical Commandments to highlight forgiveness and doing the right thing even when others mistreat you. For my PowerPoint presentation looked up the paradox lessons of Jesus in the gospels. This pamphlet on the Radical Teachings of Jesus includes some of the same examples. The world we live in today is so motivated by material possessions you would think people needed a u-Haul to carry their treasures behind the hearse. Each of the twelve radical teachings are attractively displayed on a single page with the scripture passage used. A colorful two column table shows four areas: The World’s Teaching, Jesus’ Radical Teaching, Know This (a promise  for Christians,)and Living Radically. The author shares more than one hundred references to the Kingdom of God/Kingdom of Heaven. A brief explanation of the kingdom is well written and on the back of the pamphlet. Easter Story PowerPoint

Unbelievable: The only word to describe the excellence of this Easter PowerPoint presentation. As a bible study teacher who uses PPT every week, the works of art in the slide are masterpieces. I have taught Matthew, Mark, and John making my own slides and using the harmony of the gospels to work out the timeline. It takes 10-20 hours a week to put together a lecture and presentation. This resource is priceless! It would have saved me literally hundreds of hours. The Menu is integrated in such a way that allows moving quickly to the exact lesson you need. The background of the slides ties all the topics together in harmonious arrangement. When I teach it is important for the ladies to understand that the nails were not the only torture our Lord Jesus suffered. The two slides listing the medical effects of Christ’s crucifixion were very detailed and accurate. Jesus suffered humiliation; beating and scourging and flogging before He was forced to carry the hundred pound crossbeam to the outside of town. O what a Savior! Rose Publishing offered the Easter Story for an honest review.

The top 50 Instant Bible Lessons for Elementary age children

The top 50 Instant Bible Lessons for Elementary age students is just as awesome a resource as the preschool edition. As a teacher of 32 years this book gets a high five for adding behavior management tips for ages five through ten years of age. This book explains the different learning styles of children and including up to four different activity choices per story that is certain to meet the needs of all children. While the titles are similar the games and activities are especially tailored to older children. One of my favorites is a game that goes along with Joseph’s coat of many colors is using bathrobes for a clothes relay. We have done these relays on field day at my school with several clothing items and the children love it. Another favorite activity paired with the story of Moses in the bulrushes is the “crying baby game.” The children cover their eyes as one child is chosen to “cry.” The other children try to guess who was crying. Sometimes children need to get up and move after sitting through a story or bible lesson. These activities help get the wiggles out and provide controlled movement. The object lessons provided are also wonderful to keep this age child focused. Rose Publishing gave me this pdf free to write a fair and honest review.

The Children’s Rhyming Bible

The Children’s’ Rhyming Bible by RoseKidz Books is a treasure for young children. Grandparents will love to cuddle their grandchildren as they read and share stories from the Holy Bible. My daughter is caring for two foster children. The five year old girl has little experience in things of God. She would love the colorful pictures illustrating the most familiar bible stories. Her older sister can read well enough to enjoy the rhyming cadence of the stories. The pictures are beautiful and capture the heart and soul of these well-loved stories. Thirty-four stories include New Testament accounts of Jesus and his disciples. One of my favorites is The Lost Son, aka as the Prodigal Son and The Good Neighbor. Several miracles and event in the life of Jesus will help bring alive the scriptures for these young ones. The “Forbidden Apple” and “The Cross on the Hill” were tastefully done for the most curious mind. Rose Publishing provided this free pdf file in order to write fair and honest review.

The Last Days Of Jesus DVD-based Bible Study - Deeper Connections Series

My Sunday bible study group is using the Deeper Connections study of the Miracles of Jesus. I am familiar with the series so I was eager to preview the Last Days of Jesus. The host Margaret Feinburg did a good job of setting up the sessions. I enjoy seeing the land of Israel, Caesarea Philippi, and the Kidron Valley and learning facts about the restoration of the Jewish cemetery. Jews buried face up with feet pointed toward Jerusalem. Varying filming sites makes the teaching more interesting.
Dr. Matt Williams teaching from “Warrior to Servant” is filmed at Vulture gold mine outside Phoenix, Arizona. His teaching of Peter’s rebuke and later presence on the Mount of Transfiguration offers all of us hope for forgiveness and helps us to realize our earthly wealth can be stolen at any moment. Dr. Mark Strause reporting from a horse ranch focuses on three important events: Triumphal Entrance- shows us fulfillment of prophecy and explanation of why Jesus arrived on a donkey; Cleansing of the temple: act of judgment on the temple and Israel prediction of destruction of the temple; Cursing of the fig tree symbolizes unfruitfulness of Israel. Application lessons are insightful.
Dr. Gary Burge ‘s begins the study of the Resurrection by showing a beautiful mausoleum empty because the bones of this wealthy family was moved from this Chicago cemetery to one outside Wrigley field. The early church did not worship or make a shrine of the place where Jesus was buried because Christ defeated death. Last year I taught a 30 week bible study on the book of Matthew. I can testify that the information was accurate and interesting. Thank you Rose Publishing for this free material to review.
